Fundamentals of Healing I

Life does often presents us with experiences that are hurtful and painful to say the least. In most cases, these experiences comes from those close enough to inflict wounds that are indeed painful, sometimes intentionally or unintentionally. However, irrespective of the source of the hurt, we are in need of healing in order to move on with our lives. The under- listed are some proven nuggets that would aid in a healing process.

1. Self- Forgiveness:

Acknowledge the fact that you did not do anything to contribute to what has happened, especially with such hurtful experiences involving childhood abuse, neglect, and molestation. Therefore, you need to release yourself from shame, guilt, and feelings of worthlessness as well as bitterness toward self.

2. Practice Forgiveness Toward Those Responsible for your Hurt:

Find ways to release and forgive those responsible for your hurtful experiences, knowing that the more you hold back the more you give them power over your life. When you allow what they did to control your actions and behavior, they are directly and indirectly still having power over you.
